about

Luiz B, the Brazilian phenom who has proven to be an equally gifted producer of progressive and deep house over the past several years, returns to Silk with "Hidden Beauty." Originally featured on the Silk Way 4 compilation [Proton Music], we are delighted to rehash it now as a single, along with two new intepretations by Jake Benson and Not Okay.

The Original Mix blissfully begins with the lead melodic themes, surrounded by a variety of natural effects: the mesmerizing hum of crickets, a gentle tide, and more. The beat and bass finally kick in at the quarter turn of the track, as the gorgeous backing piano chords and tremolo'ed lead synth continue to support the mid-range. In the main break, the natural effects reappear, and we are once again treated to the Luiz's gorgeous piano work.

Lithuanian duo Not Okay, known for intelligent peak-hour bombs, do not disappoint with this high-octane rendering. Kicking off the track with a signature tech-influenced rhythm and stormy, hynotic bassline groove, the track continues to crescendo toward the main break. There, the beat drops out and some of the original themes are invoked, as well as a few new melody lines. The drop to follow is sure to send shockwaves through the dancefloor.

Finally, American producer Jake Benson has been a fixture on Silk in recent months, including his standout remix of Chris Girard & Simon Sheppard's "Perfect Days." Benson returns, once again using his "Digital Sixable" alias, with a deep, groovy interpretation. The track centers on a light house rhythm and rolling bassline groove, punctuated by gentle atmospheric stabs and delicate piano lines. A moody break features reworked piano melodies from Benson, as well as more resonant synth stabs.
